In Glasgow, they would say I've got a mooth the size o' the Clyde Tunnel!! And I fear now that this is true... Now, my big mouth coupled with this character flaw I have that causes me to believe that I can do most things better than the next person could (this really 'rips Len's knittin') ~ has landed me smack dab in the middle of helping to organise a HUGE Halloween party!!
One morning a handful of mothers (yes, I was there) noted that it would be nice to have a Halloween Party for the kids, but everyone agreed that they DIDN'T want to have such a party in their own home (me included!) Soooooooo (dramatic pause) 'we' decided to organise an hour of 'Safe Trick-or-Treating' in the neighbourhood, then a party to follow...in a venue other than one of our homes -
- Now this is long, complicated and most likely boring reading, so as I cut to the chase....
I, Amber, am (amongst other things) in charge of party games... and I need some ideas!!! HELP!!
Oh, did I forget to tell you, there are going to be around 40 adults and 60 children there?
instead of a trasure island game change the mapto a ghostly island. make witches caverns, ghostly house, graveyard etc, then cut out little ghosts for the kids to pin on where they think the whitches hid there treasure. put a cross on the other side of the sheet. then the winner gets a prize my kids love doing that game

You could do the 'duck-apple' thing, but instead of ducking into a barrel of water to pull an apple out with your teeth, you fill a bowl with flour or icing sugar - and have to pick the apple up with your mouth, not using your hands.
This might make the little kids cry though. Also I don't think it's a good idea to breathe in flour - so yeah, scrap that one...
Of course, because you're near the woods, you could have a spooky treasure hunt...
Can you tell I don't have any kiddies m'self?

in that case amber, you'll have to take into consideration that everybody will be dressed up and probably have face paint on, so no mucky games.
kill len, leave him in the woods and throw the kids out to find him.
on second thoughts, that may not be such a good idea. i'll get thinking for you. have you checked the net ? there is so much there about hallowe'en, including pages and pages of terrible jokes ...

thanks everybody! I am copying and pasting thes to the list I have already... Well Zoe, it's indoors, but we will be right next to the woods... I am looking for something a little scary (a verage age is 7 years so not tooooo spoooky!!) for a walk in the woods... if it's a clear night...

How about Pass the Pumpkin? Instead of a parcel to unwrap you could have a pumpkin filled with small objects (lollipops?). The winner is the child who takes the last lollipop out of the pumpkin.

We had a Halloween party every year when I was younger. I thought I'd passalong what we did for games. We had the barrel of apples to dive for, of course. We also tied powder doughnuts on strings and hung them from the ceiling at different heights for all the different kids to line up and try to be the first kid to eat his doughnut off the string, without using your hands. We also had tootsie roll races. We each had a tootsie roll thatw e pushed across the living room carpet on our hands and knees only using our noses to move the candy. That was a lot of fun and they made for funny pictures of all the kids.
I hope you have a great time!
