Boy, oh boy, Charlie was ready for a change. He longed to leave the farm and go and live in a big city. But, as Charlie soon finds out, sometimes what you want the most is right under your own nose.
I bought Charlie's Checklist for my granddaughter about a year ago and it's still one of her favourite books. It's all about Charlie the dog, yearning to leave the farm and go live in the big city. He puts an ad in the paper and receives hundreds of replies. As he sorts them out with best friend Chester (cute little freckle face), he suddenly realises that everything he needs is right here on the farm. *Sob*
The recommended age group for this book is 4-7 but Sophie has loved it since she was 2 and I've loved it since I was 39 and three quarters. You might like to get it for any young family members but be sure to read it first. My guess is that you'll be buying a second copy to keep.
Sophie will start learning French when she starts school next year so I plan to get the French version, Balthazar pose ses conditions for Christmas.
Wonder how Amber is getting on in Scotland...?
