Click and Comment again please!

Nothing feels better than giving.  Except possibly being able to do something (with VERY minimal effort on your own part) that causes someone else to give!!  It has half as much pain with all the mmm mmm mmm feel good!!

I am happy to announce that the comment challenge was a resounding success over at Michele’s the other day with a whopping 500 comments!! The Good Doctors, true to their word, are following through with their pledge. 

Now, didn’t that feel good? And all you had to do was click and comment!  Now, friends, I am going to ask you to do the same again today. Greg, author of California Hammonds is appealing for comments for a cause that is very close to his own heart.  I found his blog after he was nominated for the BoB awards, and after my first visit to his site he visited me with an act of kindness!  He fixed my RSS feeds!  I was impressed with him then, but as I delved into his story of love, courage and loss, I knew I’d found a truly inspirational man.

We all know Michele.  And if you blog and don’t know her, you will after today.  She facilitates a fantastic blog which promotes sites other than her own.  I imagine that Michele is the life and soul of any party she attends.

You might not know Sigmund, Carl & Alfred, but again, you will after today.  I love these guys.  They use their wit well, and often make me take a good hard look at myself.  But today they are showing the world that they are more than just three dead Germans with a leather couch… They are men with a heart.

Today SC&A are sending us over to Michele’s because they know that Michele’s selfless blogging has made her tremendously popular, and she is like a flame to the moth when it comes to getting comments.  Today, SC&A are matching her comments with a dollar.  A donation of one dollar for each person who comments will be donated to Oxfam International to go toward the tsunami devastation.

I have a secret, la la la la la la

Our nice mail lady came by yesterday (she comes by every day, mind you, just the friendliest lady, though I wonder if she shouldn't get a hobby) and delivered Amber's birthday present! Granted, there is precious small chance that Amber will actually be opening it up on Monday, but it should at least be on its way by then, after I hock some of my grandmother's jewelry for the postage and drive it down to the docks where I have been promised it has a special place aboard a slow boat heading for Belgium by way of China. Would you lovely readers like to hear some clues, so that you can guess what it is? We could have a contest, and whoever guesses correctly will get a special prize! If you guess quickly, I can put your prize on the same transport. The following elements were involved in the construction of Amber's yummy birthday present:

a sense of the whimsical
an appreciation for the ancient art of self-indulgence

Len is disqualified, as he has inside information. And so is Lee, I think, just on general principle. (No, I think I may have spilled the beans to him, trying to cheer him up in the hospital, although I'm not sure that particular tidbit went very far towards that goal. He was in pain, and it's a girl thing. Also, I'm still pissed off that I never broke 600 on the penguin toss.)
